Before I start talking about Willam “Leffen” Hjetle, I have to start with a little bit of history of Super Smash Brothers Melee. For quite a long time There were only 5 players to win major tournaments. These people are called the 5 gods of Melee. These players include Mango, Armada, Mew2King, Hungrybox, and PPMD. The only players who could beat them were each other. But that all changed in 2014 when Leffen Upset HungryBox at Apex 2014 2-1 and from then on he kept beating all the top players eventually earning the title of “Godslayer” After he had defeated all of them. Ever since then he is been in the top 5 players in the world. The thing that is interesting about Leffen is that he likes being known as a villain in the Melee community. This is because he believes that if everyone is nice to each other then there will be no progress in everyones skill. This all started a couple years back in Sweden when Leffen was known to discourage people from playing and insulted them because they weren’t as good as them. During that time Leffen’s Friend Armada was collecting evidence against him and was the main advocate for Leffen being banned from Melee events in all of Europe for a year. This was announced on the website called “Smashboards” with a file called evidence.zip which contained all of the evidence of Leffen’s bullying and things of that nature. Leffen went along with this ban and from there on out as gone with his villain persona and is still winning tournaments to this day. The reason why I think Leffen is one of the best smashers is honestly because of how interesting he is and not to mention he is extremely good at the game with Fox.
